This workshop will provide an overview of asset building, including the latest research and the power of assets to decrease negative behaviors and increase positive behaviors in youth. Focus will be given to the process of moving a school or community through the following steps: 

 

• Awareness of the 40 Developmental Assets® Framework 
• Assessment of Current Assets in Youth 
• Research Linking Assets To Academic Achievement and Success 
• Doing the Work – Activities & Strategies That Build Assets 

Action steps will include what individuals can do to build relationships with youth, create a positive school climate and a more attentive community, and develop programs that support more intentional asset building.
